Hi, I'm Payal...

Welcome to Invictus Bloom! I hope this site inspires you and those that surround you.

I was born in India and have lived in the United States since age 3. My grandparents and a village of loving family members helped raise me. At the mere age of 3, I was reunited with my mom and met my dad for the first time. My grandparents stayed in the USA and influenced my life until they returned to India when I was 8. They were my first set of parents and my entire world.

My parents stressed the value of education for both their daughter and son.  They worked toward a goal of enrichment for their children in every aspect.  They also taught us the importance of relationships in our lives whether it was family members, friends or any individual we met in all areas of our lives.  We were never taught to see the difference between family or friends. Our lives included an incredible group of loving people despite most of our family living in India. Many first generation children had the tremendous benefit of being raised with multiple cultures. My husband and I are blessed to be raising our incredible children, further enriched from our own histories.  It is an honor for us to be able to continue to pass this rich heritage to our children.

It has been my privilege to have been working as an optometrist for almost 20 years. My passions include reading, sports, music, promoting the value of education and spending incredible moments with friends and family alike.

The road of life has taken various turns. At times they have been difficult to navigate and other times navigation has not been required. However, each and every single road needed to be taken to move forward and discover or perhaps rediscover Invictus Blooms along the way.  This blog is a reflection of the various roads traveled and the future roads not yet traveled. I know you have your own Invictus Blooms to discover.

Let us start our journey together!

Why I started Invictus Bloom...

An Invictus Bloom is what each individual carries that is unique to them, our undefeated gifts.  It is our duty to recognize these blooms in ourselves and in those that surround us.  It is my hope that we all find a way to fully embrace them.

May these writings inspire your Invictus Blooms as you go through your life’s journey.
